Let me tell you about Melissa Hortman.

It’s the early 2000s. She and her husband, Mark, tell their kids they are driving from their Minneapolis home to Michigan on a camping trip. Sophie and Colin are stoked.

I'm sharing this here, as I have on Facebook and Instagram, but there's no account on here to share from, and I just think this is wonderful.

A really good balance of design and implementation, and appears to achieve everything it set out to do, and it *SO* appeals to my inner 'work nerd'.

There's a good reason high-deductible health plans with savings accounts haven't had their big moment yet: especially for lower-income Americans, they offer way too much financial risk for way too little medical reward. Congress needs to give up on this idea. kffhealthnews.org/news/article...
Trump’s Idea for Health Accounts Has Been Tried. Millions of Patients Have Ended Up in Debt. - KFF Health News
Republican calls to give Americans cash instead of health insurance subsidies double down on a decades-old strategy of moving people into high-deductible plans with health savings accounts.

We already do reward it by not having OOP expenses. And there's no way to move within 500 ft. of not getting into a car crash you didn't cause or contracting idiopathic diseases.
Markwayne Mullin: "Reward people for being healthy. Think about this. Healthcare is the only industry that you're not rewarded for taking care of your responsibility. If you think about homeowners insurance, if you're within 500 feet of a fire hydrant, your insurance goes down."

Nov 13, 1833: "Father of Minneapolis Parks" Charles M. Loring is born. In the 1880s he begins acquiring the city's lakes and shorelines, and along with Horace Cleveland creates the finest public urban park system in the United States.

It should be noted that the reporter identified Hortman as the Minnesota House Speaker before the president gave his response. Disappointing doesn't begin to cover it.
Reporter: Do you think it would have been fitting to lower the flags for Melissa Hortman who was killed as well?
