If there are three things I want to impress on everybody who reads anything I write they are:
* It's about power
* Don't take fascists at face value
* I am literally just some dickhead
I cannot empahsise this enough; I am just some dickhead. If you have experience living in the world as a trans person and a baseline level of intellectual curiosity about the world you have the same qualifications to do this stuff I do.

I love to take my views on feminism and "gender ideology" from the professional Woody Allen defender.
"gender ideology is anti-gravity nonsense that only the desperate, the deluded and the double-dealing grifters still believe": just in case you were still wondering quite how consumed with hatred are Hadley Freeman and The Sunday Times.

[trying to mollify fandomites] Look, I'm not saying you're a bad person for liking media with deep rooted misogyny and heterosexism at its core. I mean I enjoyed Supernatural for the most part despite its obvious disinterest in its female characters and...why is everybody even madder at me?

The creepy, misogynistic rage against a woman for giving a piece of media some bad reviews wouldn't be out of place at the hieght of GG tbh.
Romance hetleresses are currently trying to cancel a trans woman booktuber, Willow Heath, because she said romantasy hetslop was kind of dumb and tradwifey or something. A selection of comments:

Ngl, it doesn't feel awesome that so much discourse about policies designed specifically to hurt trans people is about the negative effects it might have on some cis people.

Not cos it's not bad that it will have broader incidental effects but because it should be enough that it will hurt us.

There's a misconception I see a lot wrt to the social model of disability and disability pride more broadly that when we say these things we mean that disability isn't real or that our impairments don't cause real problems for us.

It's fucking wild that the GCs have developed such a sense of impunity that they're just actively harassing and smearing members of a tribunal panel they are supposedly trying to win over.
Terf legal nonsense - A judge has thrown out an application for a panel member to be dismissed at an employment tribunal case between the Belfast Film Festival (BFF) and former employee Sara Morrison.

Black trans women are paid dust by cis people and trans people. 21 is too young for a trans girl to die. It's not fucking fair. But per the course, Girlalala will be lost in a sea of stories of trans women of color who aren't as loved or as protected as we should be.

May she rest in peace.

I have way too many mutuals with a guy whose idea of defending trans people is conflating our interests with those of actual rapists.

It's quite funny, to me, how upset liberals get when they realise that you're not joking about the anarchism thing and your value system is, in fact, fundamentally different to theirs.

When they rescue trafficked victims from farms, that's often how they describe their situations. The smugglers take their passports and valuables, keep them in appalling conditions and make them work to pay off the cost of being brought here (which is generally impossible).

Oh cool, indentured servitude. Legally recognised throughout the democratic world as a form of unfree labour aka slavery. Also literally how the people traffickers that this legislation is supposedly meant to stop imprison their victims.

"You simply must win over men and the only way to do that is to indemnify us from all consequences forever. Why are you all covering your drinks?"
In order to move men, we have to welcome folks who have done things in the past we abhor. We have to allow folks to redeem themselves.

It’s sometimes uncomfortable, but it’s the only way we can win moving forward.

The math doesn’t math without more men.

For the record - traffickers and other predators advise this because they know it works. Society is very much poised against survivors and "false memories" is a cultural beast that will not die.
Jeffrey Epstein advised Steve Bannon that the lawyers representing Brett Kavanaugh in his confirmation hearing should accuse Christine Blasey Ford of being on medications that cause false memories or memory loss.

Seeing a lot of people I frankly thought better of misunderstanding this. It means case by case re. the service provider not the individuals using the service. This is how the Equality Act has worked for years - with providers having to justify exclusion as proportionate.
