The underlying harm is clear and I'm generally inclined to blame the SC for anything, but in this case a political coalition for full legalization came together with startling speed. Kentucky politicians from both sides of the aisle were *competing* to take credit for it.

Not so much now.
There are studies coming out that link the state legalization of online sports books to a spike in domestic violence. Of course this was a foreseeable outcome of the 2018 Supreme Court decision that made this insidious wealth extraction engine possible.

This Day in Labor History: November 22, 1909. Approximately 20,000 garment workers in New York City went on strike against the horrendous conditions of their sweatshops. This strike, known as the Uprising of the 20,000, was the largest strike led by women in American history to that time!!!

Remember that time New York elected a Muslim mayor and MAGA shit their pants saying Sharia law was coming to NYC, and then like a week later Trump gave F-35's to Saudi Arabia, the capital of Wahabbi fundamentalist Islam, where 17 of 19 9/11 hijackers were citizens? Just to open Trump Tower Riyadh?

The executive has encouraged the legislature to compel the executive to release files the executive holds and has chosen not to release despite calls from legislators. It's unclear whether the executive will veto the legislature's bill, and whether the legislature will over-ride the executive's veto

It's powerful. And may be useful to share with others, including students.

Senate hopes to provide large cash payments to senators to award their participation in seditious activity and punish the government for legitimate investigations - Lawyers, Guns & Money
As a coda to Trump’s blanket pardon of Johns Eastman, the Senate has given its Joshes Hawley a little treat: This hidden provision is so crooked and selfish, it doesn't even apply to US Representative...

I have thoughts, and they aren’t going to fit neatly into Bluesky posts. Briefly:

1. The deal sucks.
2. Probably not as much as you think it does.
3. It’s good to be mad.
4. FFS, be madder at the GOP.
5. Strategy is hard.
5b. Timing matters.
6. The fight isn’t over.
7. Go pet a cat. (Or a dog.)
