NEW PAPER w/ @cselmendorf.bsky.social & @jkalla.bsky.social:

An under-appreciated reason why voters oppose dense new housing, especially in less-dense neighborhoods: they think it looks ugly and want to prevent that, even in other neighborhoods.

Some of what we think is NIMBYism might not be!

Lots of new housing coming online in downtown San Antonio — good. Now connect it to the rest of town and the region and the entire state with trains.
San Antonio developers bet on demand for downtown living

Bro ha fallen in love with Zohran Mamdani.

Trump: We had a meeting today that actually surprised me. He wants to see no crime. He wants to see housing being built. He wants to see rents coming down. All things that I agree with.

The House Republicans continue to protect a pedophile sex trafficking ring and all their friends who were involved.

Not surprising, but hilarious on a day when the GOP is insisting that a partial release of emails was meant to smear the innocent President.

Why keep hiding the files then?
Nancy Mace is expected to pull her support for the petition to release the Epstein Files, the day before Adelita Grijalva is sworn in.
