Y’know, we can carry a lot of negative stuff with us and it can drag us down, but all of out experiences make us the people we are. We shouldn’t hide from them. We should allow ourselves to allow those memories to pass through us. They will resurface, but they are in the past. (1)

Seeing how much of the right-wing on Twitter is just bot farms, kinda lays bare how much hate and hatred is a project that needs to be constantly maintained, a fire that needs to be fed all the time lest it go out for a moment, so much time, effort, and resources to keep people angry and hateful.

Like, they very publicly set goals for it! They gloated about how they were smashing the rules to get stuff done! It was by *far* the highest profile policy story of Trump’s first few months! And it was just a complete failure and nobody in the press cares

It remains insane to me that DOGE was treated at the time as an impressive shock and awe accomplishment - “you can’t deny he’s getting stuff done!” - and then instantly memory holed by the press once if became clear it was a total failure by every possible standard including Musk’s own
