If we designed roads for cars in the same way we design bike paths, we'd never have to worry about speeding again. Problem solved.

Great results in #ShawneeKS tonight with 4 excellent candidates sweeping city council. In 2023, it was 7-1 with 1 progressive, and in 2026, it will be one lone conservative.

This is a great success story in a formerly red city in a county turning more blue in a red state. #KSgov #ElectionDay

One of the better civic participation ideas I heard this year was from my friend who gets together for lunch with her friends on one of the advance in-person voting Saturdays.

After lunch, they go to the polls and vote. This is the third year they’ve done it in. The group is growing!

Happy Election Day, everyone! I already voted in early voting, but if you didn’t (or your retrograde voter-suppressing state doesn’t allow early voting) TODAY IS THE DAY to take this country back from fascists, one school committee or city council at a time. #vote2025

Already happened in #Kansas thanks to State Senator Mike Thompson (R-Shawnee), who seems incapable of good ideas. 😡

So frustrating that the GOP only wants to make it harder for your voice to matter.

#PalliativeCare clinics can choose to still do TeleHealth visits because the presumption is those funds will be paid retroactively. The longer the GOP driven shutdown goes on, the more likely we are going to have to tell patients and their caregivers they must come to clinic, no matter the burden.
Congress has routinely extended the telehealth flexibilities and was poised to do so again before their Sept. 30 expiration. But when budget negotiations stalled and the government shut down Oct. 1, the vote never happened, leaving the program temporarily unfunded. https://to.pbs.org/3Lgrqlx
Medicare patients go without needed treatment as government shutdown disrupts telehealth
The shutdown, now in its fifth week, halted funding for Medicare's telehealth program, leaving many patients without vital services.

I just donate to my local food bank. I’m starting early this year given the federal government may not fund SNAP and continues to avoid a real solution to the shutdown impacting so many people.

People need food.
People need healthcare.
Making access more difficult to either is cruel.
