In recent years I feel like I've seen more people expressing genuine love of this holiday than I'd seen in earlier times. I don't think that this is people ignoring the more problematic elements of the day's history, but rather a deliberate choice to focus on thankfulness, and that seems healthy.

Someone around me had a terrible thing happen the other day: her bank account was emptied after someone swiped her info with a skimmer device.
I was able to help her with immediate needs, but I'm aghast at the treatment by her bank. What's a poor person supposed to do when *all* their $ disappears?
