Continuing to read this book, and while it's certainly a page-turner, on a sentence to sentence level it's still pretty "meh." And like, is that on the translator? Was the original like that, too?
Hm. I'm reading a book that's translated from Japanese, and I think I don't like the translation very much? There's a clunkiness to it, and I'm finding myself trying to reverse engineer the original text.

One of my favorite Giorno character traits is how, when things go well, he's like, "Everyone played a part in this victory 😊!" And when things go poorly, he's like, "I have personally failed, and I will carry that with me until the day I die."

I don't know what the context for it would be, but I'd really like to write Giorno excoriating Dio. Like, fully peeling back the dermal layer of his psyche and letting him have it.

Read Magda Szabó's "Katalin Street" in a day. I'd previously read "The Fawn," so I knew somewhat to expect this, but it's truly remarkable how she can line up the pieces and then so ruthlessly knock them down.
