Hm. I'm reading a book that's translated from Japanese, and I think I don't like the translation very much? There's a clunkiness to it, and I'm finding myself trying to reverse engineer the original text.

Read Magda Szabó's "Katalin Street" in a day. I'd previously read "The Fawn," so I knew somewhat to expect this, but it's truly remarkable how she can line up the pieces and then so ruthlessly knock them down.
