Today is the birthday of artist George Evans (Feb. 5, 1920-June 22, 2001), most known for his work on war titles for EC Comics & DC Comics, magazines such as Blazing Combat, Eerie, & National Lampoons, and a 16 year run on the Secret Agent Corrigan newspaper strip (1980-1996).

interview here is very revealing and it would be less likely to get play for English speaking audiences than Aronofsky's side of the story. Aronofsky built his career off a lesser known artist, that's not homage, it's "ripping off". Kon didn't get any credit in the film
