This was me last week (and two weeks before that). Conference season can be a real curse for socially anxious introverts.

I didn't get a picture of the campus kangaroos, but I can provide a fairly accurate artistic rendition of them (based on my photo of non-tertiary-educated roos taken the day before the conference):

It's supposed to be a high of 31 degrees so here's hoping the conference vibe is pro-shorts. I mean, surely we can't be expected to present at the Sunshine Coast in Actual Pants. Most people living here don't seem to own shirts.

I guess I'm adding looking at kangaroos to my conference itinerary

Is she digital savvy enough to use the AoNZ bird identifier? I love this site, but it's mostly useful for when you see the bird yourself www.nzbirdsonline.org.nz?id=2

It also fucking sucks that so many people on the Left(s) refuse to understand anti-fatness as a system of oppression, and fat liberation as a legitimate anti-oppression movement.

It sucks, because it's all connected, and if you don't see this part, you don't have a clear understanding of the whole.

That sounds surreal. I also want to live with a magic night sky lizard in my ceiling.

This isn't to say that all academic spaces feel welcoming or foster that kind of community-building. But when it's done well, it can make a real impact.

Omg and a physical copy as well?! That's so sweet 😭

Ditto!! Still can't believe you have a last name in the real world, never saw that coming (despite the literal email exchanges we've had).
