It’s hard to believe but there was a cartoon about an immigrant mouse and it was seen as totally fine and not controversial and not woke because it was an aspirational and nice thing about America that people could come here and find a better life

Democracy is cool I guess but have you tried suddenly altering the schedule to vote to give cops more power a week early

Doing stuff like this underhanded move of deferral and then reintroduced as an emergency ruins relationships with the community. You want us to trust you?
It passed unanimously. CM Bingle is planning to hold a presser on Nov 3 to check in on whether or not enforcement is happening, I.e. are the cops actually arresting people?
This is essentially the entire city council getting together to pass Prop 1 but even stricter because it applies to the whole city.

Somehow, this is being painted a victory for collaboration when really it’s just the progressives giving the conservatives exactly what they asked for but harsher?

CIVICS: Even stricter restrictions could be coming to punish visible homelessness. Plus, the airport isn’t budgeting for PFAS clean-up and Spokane City Council could make it easier to fire their own staff. All the deets + more on municipal meetings:

You know who cops often mistake as homeless? People with DISABILITIES. This is just a modern continuation of Ugly Laws.

This is so fucked. These cause extreme physical pain. They can possibly result in hearing loss. This is a horrific response to the June 11th protests.

If this country was truly “pro-life,” we would have Medicare for All, a Green New Deal, gun reform, universal child care, and a living wage.

The right-wing agenda isn’t about “life.”

It’s about control.

At the KYRS Candidate Forum.

Johnathan Bingle has the thinnest skin.

It'd be funny if he wasn't an elected official.

Also, we don't need more job cuts if you care about the economy and the struggling working class. Where are you going to send the unemployed?

If you read/listen to any local news this week, please let it be this! I’ve been working on it for weeks and it’s some of the most insane shit I’ve ever written
From prison, convicted rapist Arlin Jordin has easily evicted tenants for decades. With Washington’s right-to-counsel laws, that’s all changing. This month, it all came to a head with Spokane's first right-to-counsel jury trial for an eviction:

I can not be more excited to vote for @sardixit.bsky.social

This is THE candidate who is not afraid to say what needs to be said for the benefit of our neighbors. She is well researched, well spoken, and one of the most empathetic people I know.

This isn't about babies. This is about controlling women.
Between June 2022 and June 2024, at least 412 people across the country have been charged for crimes related to their pregnancies, pregnancy losses, or even live births.

This is what fetal personhood looks like.

Trump and Republicans will take the blame if the government shuts down tonight.

They have already decimated federal agencies, fired thousands of federal workers, and stripped health care from 15 million people.

It's clear that they have no interest in working FOR the American people.

Attempting to rig elections on his behalf.

Turning the military on citizens.

Toying with the idea of declaring martial law.

Attacking political enemies and punishing those who speak out against his regime.

If this were happening in another country, what would you call it?

Last night, Trump tried to fire Federal Reserve Board Member Lisa Cook — a wholly illegal move that would kneecap the Fed’s independence and further wreck our economy’s stability.
