still get rid of her. if she can't report what her department is doing accurately, and willing off-loads that responsibility onto a third party...what is she even doing?
Breaking Axios:

Kristi Noem's language that Alex Pretti wanted to "massacre" federal agents was dictated to Noem and her department by the man most responsible for the controversial operation: Stephen Miller.

That's according to four sources who spoke to Axios. www.axios.com/2026/01/27/t...
Scoop: Stephen Miller behind misleading claim that Alex Pretti wanted to "massacre" agents
The episode illustrates the sheer power of Miller, Trump's close and longest-serving political adviser

guardrails would slow me down too. but instead of murdering citizens and undocumented workers (read: humans) without consequence, i would be raising the tax rate to what it was before reagan. and i would be funding public projects, instead of funding a secret police force.
Trump: I don't need guardrails. I don't want guardrails. Guardrails would hurt us

he can't be a master manipulator because he is unable to conceal his feelings for his own good. but, he is speaking to base that considers anything he says to be a baseline truth about reality. so does it really matter if trump takes a morally repugnant in terms of retention of his base of support?
While talking about Alex Pretti, Trump suggests he feels even worse about Renee Good because her parents were Trump fans.

i think that a lot of people live their lives like this: they have no idea what's going on, but are generally able to bullshit their way through it. unfortunately, when you're POTUS and you don't understand the bill of rights...can't really do "vibe-based analysis" of what a protester can/can't do.
Trump: "With that being said, you can't have guns. You can't walk in with guns. You just can't. You can't walk in with guns. You can't do that. But it's just a very unfortunate incident."

remember what i said: did he die for nothing? we must demand that those who are responsible are investigated and criminally prosecuted. at the moment, it appears as though that will not happen.
Breaking MS NOW:

Trump's Justice Department has decided there will be no civil rights investigation of the fatal shooting of Alex Pretti, and instead two units of DHS will investigate their own officers and the man they killed.
No civil rights violation probe into latest MN shooting, sources tell MS NOW
As DHS takes over the federal investigation, current and former law enforcement agents warn that Trump’s DOJ isn’t committed to facts or fairness.

"An attack on Alex feels like an attack on all of us. I don't have words to describe the amount of rage that I have when he's described as a domestic terrorist. He was there to help people. He was there to spread a message of warmth and love in this country."

Family members of two Trinidadian men who were killed in a U.S. boat strike in October have sued the U.S. government — accusing it of wrongful death and extrajudicial killings.

The lawsuit is the first of its kind to be filed against the Trump admin.

why is the starting point for negotiations not "investigate and criminally prosecute the agents involved in the murders of Renee Good and Alex Pretti" and "abolish ice"? fuck these feckless leaders who will stand for nothing; you are the reason that these victims will have died for nothing.
Dems coalescing around 5 restrictions on ICE, I'm told:

DHS required to cooperate with state probes (big)
CBP stays at border
warrants for arrests
IDs, bodycams
ICE out of churches, schools

"That package unites a lot of Dems," Sen Chris Murphy tells me on the pod:

As Trump scrambles to contain the damage from the latest ICE horrors, Senator Chris Murphy offers a sharp indictment of Trump-ICE lawlessness—and explains how Dems can meet the urgency of the moment.

Every senator should be following Rep. Ro Khanna’s lead and head to Minneapolis before they cast their vote on more ICE funding.

It’s a moral test, and anyone who claims to stand for human rights should take notes.

Host: Kristi Noem said Pretti committed an act of domestic terrorism. Stephen Miller called him an assassin. Bovino said Pretti assaulted law enforcement. False, false, false, false. Those statements are all, at best, inconsistent with what we can all see on the videos, and at worst, egregious lies.

This was never about immigration or fraud. It was always about rigging elections.

every time a republican starts talking about the murder of Alex Pretti, notice that they don't think they're lying because their foundational truths about the situation are incorrect. they are intentionally repeating phrases like "impeding" or "assaulting" without defining those terms.

i mean, is this anything less than extortion?
Minnesota has quickly rejected Pam Bondi's request for the state's voter rolls:

"The answer to AG Bondi's request is no. Her letter is an outrageous attempt to coerce Minnesota into giving the federal government private data on millions of U.S. Citizens in violation of state and federal law."

up to and including high powered rifles, to protect themselves against tyranny

also Republicans, without batting an eye: carrying a gun is unquestionable justification for federal agents to shoot you dead in the street

As tens of thousands across America protest the violence that ICE sows with impunity, federal agents shot and killed another person in Minneapolis today.

ICE terrorizes our cities. ICE puts us all in danger. Abolish ICE.

Early DHS spin (via Fox News) is that the person shot repeatedly by Border Patrol officers in Minneapolis was armed -- note that open carrying firearms is legal with a permit and notably, they are not (yet at least) claiming that the person fired or even brandished a gun, just had one.

They're never out there supporting ICE.
