I will "dispute" 😁 As a young footballer watching local BC lads playing big roles in that team, I was super motivated by that. When Bolitho, Lenarduzzi bros, Ferguson and Parsons came and played an indoor soccer game in the gym at our school at lunch, it was inspirational. Lads from our communities

I’d like to file a dispute :). Vancouver had half the population back then but regularly filled Empire Stadium. A win today will be amazing but those who were there in 1979 *know* what it was like.

What a player he was. Along with a couple others made the Brazil 1981-1986 team tick. And his Corinthians Democracy was such an interesting lens for our game.
On this day in 2011, Sócrates passed away.
Not only was he a superb footballer, but he was also a huge proponent of democracy, socialism and working-class identity in football.
In this era of ultra-commercialised football, we'd do well to remember Sócrates and the impact he had.

I’m so sorry for Valour FC folding. Obviously they were part of probably the biggest sporting moment of my life in 2023. We’ve been rivals since then.
But it absolutely sucks for supporters to lose their club. It sucks for players and other workers to lose their jobs.

Maybe you don’t like MLS, CPL, the CSA or CSB but I think most of us, and definitely me, who follow soccer here must’ve been smiling tonight to see two professional teams from Vancouver, who play in different leagues, playing a derby game to see who would qualify for the CONCACAF Champions Cup.

The pricing model is outrageous. As a person who works in the game and lives and breathes it this is a massive disappointment.
If true and representative of what most round robin World Cup games will cost, this is a disgrace. I paid about $3k for eight Cat 1 tickets in Qatar.
