I’m so confused about why this is happening but it’s undeniably good news.
One of the most prominent MAGA stars — who just a year ago thought she was being nominated UN ambassador before that got pulled, in part because the GOP got worried about losing her seat — announces she is ending her run for governor *AND* retiring from Congress. www.nytimes.com/2025/12/19/n...

Annually the most comprehensive roundup of upcoming films. While the studio side looks to be one of the worst years ever, there's a lot of independent films to be excited about in 2026, in particular the new Ryusuke Hamaguchi, Lee Chang-dong, James Gray, and Mike Leigh.

Very curious and excited about this one.
The first poster for Alejandro G. Iñárritu's #Digger starring Tom Cruise.

For those keeping score at home, this is a prequel series to the prequel series to the reboot of the American remake of the original Japanese Godzilla film.

What the fuck? Maybe I'm at fault for expecting better from an NFL player, but this is disappointing to see from Puka, to say the least.
On a livestream yesterday, Puka both:
- Said that the Refs throw flags that they know are bad to brag to their friends in group chats, and
- Told Adin Ross that he'd do a "covetous jew" celebration on his next TD score

Suspend him tbh

Holy shit, if you live in Los Angeles and have never seen Lars von Trier's The Kingdom, you MUST jump at this opportunity. Aren't you curious to know how Udo Kier ends up looking like this?!

I've seen almost every major 2025 film, only a few stragglers left before I can finalize my year-end list: Marty Supreme, The Testament of Ann Lee, Father Mother Sister Brother, La Grazia, Is This Thing On?, Peter Hujar's Day, The Voice of Hind Rajab, Sirāt, Late Shift, A Poet.

Very happy to see the fantastic, 5 1/2 hour Russian documentary My Undesirable Friends: Part 1 - Last Air in Moscow make the Best Documentary shortlist. As far as I'm aware, the film has no distributor, so it could be very difficult for it to go the distance, but it'd be a very deserving winner.
good oscars international feature shortlist. no PUT YOUR SOUL ON YOUR HAND AND WALK on the documentary shortlist is infuriating.

Fully believe it will end up being great, but I am a little concerned how much this shot in the Disclosure Day trailer reminded me of the recent AI Coke ad.

Very sad and scary situation involving Rob Reiner. Hopefully it’s not as tragic as it seems.

Ugh, really hope Micah Parsons' injury isn't as bad as it looked.

Chiefs are officially out of the playoffs and Patrick Mahomes has to be carried to the locker room after a brutal injury. The dynasty is DEAD. Sad day for Chiefs fans.

Ella McCay is a mess but I actually unironically enjoyed it and thought Emma Mackey was fantastic in the titular role.

Jennifer English as Maelle in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is one of my favorite voice-acting performances ever, so it's nice to see her win the award. So many other worthy performances in that game too, from Ben Starr, Charlie Cox, and everyone else.

The Colts are trotting out a LITERAL GRANDFATHER to play quarterback for them. Crazy what has happened to their season.
A source close to Philip Rivers describes a player who looks in better shape now than when he played.

“It’s a no-brainer for who gives them the best chance.”

Expect a heavy dose of Jonathan Taylor and the Colts’ ground game to support the 44-year-old Rivers.

Chiefs are already down three starting offensive linemen, including both tackles, against the Texans’ #1 defense, and they just lost their backup left tackle on the first play of the game. What a nightmare.

It's crazy that the Celtics did everything they could to tank this offseason and they're still #3 in the East. That entire conference is ass.

Oh boy, looks like Daniel Jones might have popped his Achilles. Would be such a brutal way for the Colts' magical season to come to an abrupt end.
