Hi 👋 to new followers! If you're looking for only weather content, apologies in advance. I'm a whole person w/hot takes of all kinds. E.g.: Super Mario Bros 2 is my favorite. Computer rankings should help decide the college football playoffs. Your students are better than you give them credit for.
My two large class (n=80, 140) exams are on Wednesday night and Thursday afternoon this year... so I booked a room with ~40 seats for a Monday morning alternate exam.
Way more people interested than seats available... seemed like a great opportunity to use @random.org's third party draw service.

Last time, I was honestly not sure if I’d seen the aurora in Bloomington with my naked eyes. This time, it’s much brighter. Left no doubt. 😍

I first wrote and cron’d the script that makes these @NWSSPC upper air maps in November 1998. It’s been running and making the twice-daily UA maps for the past 27 years at this URL: www.spc.noaa.gov/obswx/maps/. That’s over 138,000 maps online and it’s still going!

That’s a new way of thinking about wildfire loss in CA for me.
On average over the past decade, we have lost 8000 homes per year. That's about 7% of the new housing built per year in California.

Oh man. If his last minute on the court was last year's tournament game where he jawed with and actually blew a kiss toward a losing team's fanbase, it's a humiliating end to what was, by most measures, a stellar career. (Four national championship games!! In his heyday, he was at the top.)
Did Ted Valentine secretly retire? It doesn't appear that he has worked a game this season.
