Robert McCall was an illustrator for Life Magazine and other publications, but is best known for being NASA’s primary artist for many years. He had a lifelong love of aviation and spaceflight, and the pre-production illustrations he made for Star Trek: The Motion Picture are marvelous.

I actually am lol Yeah, -30°C are challenging, but I genuinely prefer them to +30°C with the sky blackened by wildfire smoke and every breath feeling like razor blades. Putting on a sweater is way easier than struggling to breathe.

Aside: Some hardcore Trek fans don’t seem to like the new Starfleet Academy show, but honestly I think a Star Trek that is bros helping bros make their beds properly, and learning to use empathy to disarm their enemies, in a YA format, is exactly what we need right now from that franchise.
