I was NOT prepared for the ducks that go "awoo"
A comforter in Europe is often called an 'eiderdown', because they were traditionally made with the warm, dense down of an eider duck.

The eider is a sea duck that occupies the cold reaches of the near-Arctic, places like Finland & Canada.

Their calls sound like Wisconsin moms at a potluck. 😉

“Socarrat” inspired drawing of a fox. I’ve wanted to draw a series in this style for a long time to print and frame to decorate my home.

Humans have not evolutionarily changed to any meaningful degree within the last 50,000 years and yet in the last 200-300, one system of thinking thought up by wealth hoarding exploitative men has altered our circadian rythms, long term health and brain chemistry

This isnt fucking natural
I think about this post a lot.

-human tries to use art to perfectly communicate something they see or feel
-they fail
-in failing, their fingerprints get all over the art
-other humans see the fingerprints and find them beautiful, learn something unexpected about the human that created the art which is beautiful

Like, the fucking worst thing for me is the fact the ONLY reason they committed to having this AMA was in order to address the concerns that arose from the AI backlash

Then they have the fucking audacity to be all “Good vibes pls, do we really need to be focusing on that AI kerfuffle? Please don’t”

I wish food places still hired drivers and offered delivery

Instead, we’ve a cartel monopolizing food delivery that underpays their employees such that they’re forced to run a protection racket on the food they deliver just to make ends meet, and the cartel then pretends they’re not even employees.

30 years ago today, Calvin & Hobbes came to an end with this strip.

This morning, it snowed, fresh and new, and because of the holiday the clean white sheet lay undisturbed and unplowed until the afternoon.

I have a good feeling about this year.

James Baxter flexing on himself by making fun of himself by doing his signature fluid and dynamic animation, but dialing the fluidity and motion distortion up to 11 to exaggeratedly mock it, and then knocking that out of the park by doing THAT at a quality that only James Baxter could do.
