My least popular (and most correct) view is that cars should be automatically limited to the local speed limit. Put the pedal to the floor and you still can't go over 25mph in a residential area.

After directly engaging with people on climate here, I’m so pissed off about this new political landscape, yet completely unsurprised by it, considering how entrenched the mistrust of any climate action has become. At a level that is quite unique across Europe.

Use coal for over two centuries. Close the last plant in 2024 and claim 'climate leadership'. Drill the North Sea for oil and gas to near-depletion. Then announce a 'ban' with relaxations to drill more in existing fields. No one does 'climate leadership' like the UK

Unbelievable to see the EU shifts so rapidly from being a so-called climate champion to whatever the heck it is now.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said today that the fight against climate change was not against the fuels that cause it — only the pollution they emit.

Jejich průměrná daňová sazba však klesla z 29,2 % v roce 2003 na 25,7 % v roce 2022 🙃
