And in this moment, we are reminded of the most American of traditions: erasing harm when a powerful white man dies. It is a tradition I refuse to take part in, even as I maintain my humanity by acknowledging the real tragedy of his death—again for his loved ones, his friends, and for our democracy.

The MSNBC commentator saying that most political violence has historically come from the left just once again showed how we suffer from failing to learn history. Lynching, pogroms, race riots, the political violence that ended Reconstruction, and against the Civil Rights Movement. Come on.

Hey @bbcnews-world-rss.bsky.social you’re reporting on Chicago crowds apparently protesting Trump, but what about DC’s???

I will once again remind Congressional Democrats that they don't have to be in the majority to hold hearings (and should have been, at least weekly, since Jan), hear from and talk with witnesses and experts, and provide the public with information.

That they wouldn't be "official" is irrelevant.
Seems like the kind of thing there should be congressional hearings about? Maybe bring it up on the Sunday talk shows? Angry tweet? Anything? Hello?
Anyway are we gonna keep talking about how we found out today that Trump sent Navy SEALS to North Korea to plant a listening device but instead they panicked and murdered a bunch of random fishermen or is that just gonna get memory holed

@nprnews.bsky.social Are you seriously leading ATC with Chicago rather than the massive march against occupation in your own DC today???

We need Chief Smith to listen to the DCAG and refuse to follow this order. Join us today at 12 PM to add your messages to a copy of DCAG's letter. freedcproject.org/event-list/c...

HUGELY Important.
While Mike Lee and Steve Daines' Senate Natural Resources Committee amendment to the budget reconciliation package mandates the sale of up to 3.3 million acres of public land, what most people miss is that it also authorizes the sale of 258 million acres. That's 40 percent of all public land:

Don’t be confused: The Senate Republican AI language includes the EXACT SAME AI moratorium as the House bill. Almost word-for-word. This is a complete, 10-year ban on state AI regulation. Period.

The Big Fucked Up Bill, is NOT a spending bill.

It’s a government restructuring bill, that consolidates power in the executive, defunds critical services to the point of absurdity, removes the power of our courts to enforce the law and dramatically curtails voting rights.

It’s Project 2025

Democrats should be leveraging the 250th, especially next year's Independence Day anniversary, for the midterm elections. The language of resistance, rights, and freedom is tailor-made for the present moment. Embrace it!

If you spend any time watching the live coverage of the Lexington/Concord 250 celebrations, you will get a sense of why it is so important to Trump to control what happens next July 4. Today's celebration is inclusive and focused squarely on challenging unchecked power. Really impressive.
