Spilling water at Roxburgh to sluice out sediment from behind the dam. Highly recommend this section of the Clutha Gold Trail #paihikara

At what point do we publicly accept that NZ is deeply corrupt and the only reason why we don’t have a culture of direct payoffs and bribery (that we cite as the evidence for us not being corrupt) is because it’s not needed? The boys club gets what it wants through people playing their social roles.

Young men in my son’s cohort at Otago Uni are spending $50 / week on sports betting. Gambling advertising on TV feels like the cigarette sports sponsorship of the 21st century

Simeon Brown is like a lightly lobotomised Jacob Rees-Mogg. His continued presence in NZ politics is an absolute mystery.

NZ's new methane target:

Represents doing nothing if historic efficiency gains continue, and assumes new mitigations won't work.

Worse, our farmers need to realise it cedes the future of the paperwork they complain about to places like Brussels instead of Wellington.

Go Waitaki District Council!
I've been meaning to post some of the pictures I have taken around our local public gardens this spring. The staff there do the most incredibly phenomenal job of keeping the place looking wonderful. This is a thread which goes forwards chronologically over the last week. 🌱🇳🇿
