Findings from the Covid enquiry are not surprising. In particular the lack of communication between the UK and devolved governments. This should have been a priority in the emergency facing the country. Uk politicians especially did not set a good example.

Young people don’t get a discount on their rent or food bills. So why are they paid less?

700,000 18-20 year olds could be missing out on an average of £2,400 a year on average because they're not covered by the main minimum wage.

The cost of food, energy, housing and living is soaring, and the financial insecurity is far from over for those relying on foodbanks or being forced to go hungry.

Mourning those murdered by Hamas isn't incompatible with mourning those murdered by the Israeli state.

Demanding that the hostages return isn't incompatible with naming & demanding an end to genocide.

Naming the power imbalance & impact thereof doesn't desecrate those murdered two years ago today.

Had the government said "as a mark of respect, we'd like you to cancel football matches, concerts etc AND protests today", then fair enough. But to single out the protest they've long wanted to stop anyway as the one thing we should not do looks like disgraceful exploitation of a horrific attack.
