Bourgeois society stands at the crossroads, either transition to socialism or regression into barbarism.

Dishonest Chancellor Rachel Reeves said: "Our free breakfast clubs are ensuring over half a million more children don’t start the school day hungry."

The first of these clubs won't start until April 2026, most are scheduled to open in September 2026, or 2027...

These kids are still hungry...

Another nail in the Labour coffin.
Interesting that this happened the day before the government approved the Heathrow expansion
Last night the Government steamrollered its Planning Bill through, slamming the door on vital protections for nature.

They said it would be a ‘win-win’ for the economy and nature.

But in reality, they’ve pushed nature into last place.

An excellent take on how the Government has numerous policy choices to boost public finances and move towards a fairer society. The fact that it won't deploy them underlines the corporate capture of Labour.
UK govt can save over £20bn a year by ending payment of interest on commercial banks’ central bank reserves.

Subsidy implemented after the 2007-08 crash. Banks are very profitable.

Since 2023, the EU stopped paying interest on central bank reserves.

UK can find better uses of £20bn+.
This is how Rachel Reeves could deliver a progressive budget

'The public have a very dim view of Labour’s stewardship of the economy...'

Rightly so. The economy's flatlining, cost of living crisis hasn't gone away, corporations are profiteering and Labour hasn't a clue what to do other than maintain the dysfunctional status quo.

Spot on. Mainstream debate of economics these days is conducted in a state of self-induced ignorance. Which is surely deliberate as the alternative is to challenge the status and ask awkward questions about a bankrupt economic ideology which only suits the interests of capital and the super rich.
It's fascinating that people who clearly have no idea about Keynesian economics, have no concept of borrowing to invest, never mind fiat currency, surplus value etc, call other people economic illiterates.
