I have a clean bathroom but I imagine the VOCs around here are outrageous as a result... 😉

The snow, she is coming down. As long as the electricity stays on we are in good shape; we haven't gotten around to getting the fireplace/chimney cleaned and converted to a pellet stove...

Brutal but effective public health messaging from New York Public Health.

The CDC is compromised. They’re no longer a reliable source of information.

They push anti-vaxx & anti-science grift.

Get your vaccines. Wear a respirator. Clean the air

I am amused that at the end of semester psych research day, my lab is both present in force, and are taking up the second row from the front. We are raising them right!! 😁

This, I can totally agree with. 😁
Proust:

To read is to receive a communication with another way of thinking, all the while remaining alone, that is,while continuing to enjoy the intellectual power that one has in solitude and that conversation dissipates immediately.

Well all those scientific conferences better plan on not holding their meetings in the US for the next however long. Nobody will come from outside the country!

This is another great way to isolate us from the rest of the world. 🤯

Thank you to all who participated in our Signs of Fascism action in downtown Delaware. All the outward support was appreciated too!
This solemn event underscores our deep concern for our nation under the current administration. Thank you for your time, your presence, your witness, your doggedness.

Interesting -- I have roughly the same number of followers/following on both Bsky and mastodon, though I have been there much longer.

But my SkypeaScientist post got 11 boosts there and multiple likes and one comment in a day, while here-- zip.

Where the science lovers at? 😁 What's the hashtag?

One of those charities I support whole heartedly -- help everyone meet and interact with working scientists, understand the methods and arguments in multiple domains, and how scientific consensus comes to be.

Absolutely. Very good advice.
Hatred hasn't built a single thing.
Hating someone ties you invisibly to the person you hate. Wishing death on someone you hate may boost your anger temporarily. In the meantime.. feed babies. Donate formula. Vote for K to 12 free meals for students. Which we did in Colorado.
