I’d make some joke like “oh good, I’d been dying to know if this extinct animals had a gall bladder” except that’s absolutely the kind of thing I do want to know, thanks Wikipedia.

It's clear that congressional Democrats don't read enough fantasy because they don't seem to understand how to actually bargain.

Due to poor planning on the part of another office, I won't have a remote day this week. I'm trying to be strategic about planning around not being home to take care of things and have realized I do not, in fact, need to do it all tonight.

*Differences in potential ratings account for half of the gender promotion gap
*Women’s lower potential ratings do not reflect future performance: women subsequently outperform male colleagues

I've never given one passing concern about what groceries people buy or how they pay for them.
I just want everyone to have the food they need.

The #ExecutiveFunctionTheft of having to opt out.
Feeling annoyed at the cognitive cost of having to dismiss all the offers of "AI" assitance every time I use Acrobat to provide feedback on documents my students wrote. (NO I do NOT want an "AI" summary of this. In what world???)

About 2.5 months into taking metformin and I'm *so annoyed* at some of my previous medical providers for not pushing or even recommending me to try it. Even at the low dose I'm on there have been significant changes and I'm very annoyed I've waited to get them address.

The negotiated rulemaking session on defining professional programs essentially just added clinical psychology to the bare minimum required by law, even though the law gives more leeway to include other programs. This will end up in court.

Ooof, I'm listening (or was listening) to an academic podcast that uses all sorts of acronyms, even while speaking! And, guess what? My brain can't track all of your acronyms because I don't have a paper to refer back to. Stop this! Just use the words!

"there should be no uncontested races" is a thing I'm seeing and I would like to invite every single person who says that to join their local Dem committee and run a race themselves.

one thing I love about modern UI design is the lack of error messages. Ideally, the user should have no idea why their app is malfunctioning or what they can do to fix it. this is how a phone asserts dominance.

Washington is "we need more area rugs" old, so we got two more this morning.
I donated $25 to our local food bank/food distributor.
I need to go feed the bird (again) while it's not pouring out.

I'm seeing a few of these convos, and once again I'm wishing our large items had learned how to host online conferences! Not only do I not have travel funds, I can't afford to get trapped somewhere - but online conferences mean we aren't reliant on an unstable government.
Just cancelled my flight to Denver on Tuesday for #ASHE - driving instead.
I don't trust I won't be stranded in Denver for a while and unable to get a rental car out.
I don't trust this administration has kept the airways safe. I had that issue before the shutdown, too, due to DOGE.
