Hades 2 is one of the greatest roguelikes I've ever played. The storytelling is brilliant, the characters are lovable (besides one I love to hate), the gameplay is addicting, and I LOVED the romance I went with. No cons here, just great things! Yay!

Let's go deep into my final review of the year...
The logo for Hades 2 can be seen at the top ✅️ Whether a run is successful or not, it continuously adds something new to the story to keep it fresh and exciting. It's seamless and it's impressive. ✅️ The hand-drawn/digital art is vibrant with a focus on a different color scheme (green) than the first game (red), and works wonders with the moon/witch theme. Characters are highly detailed and expressive. ✅️ Melinoë is one of my favorite female protagonists in recent years. She is melancholic and kind, but firm. ✅️ Interactions with characters never get stale as they always have something new to talk about, and the smallest of actions can influence more conversation. ✅️ The music composed by Darren Korb is a blend of various genres, which works amazingly well in each region. My favorite song is “Doomed City”. ✅️ Like the first game, the voice acting is incredible. ✅️ There are six distinct weapons to choose from based on personal preference. A certain mode that is unlocked later helps familiarize with weapons/builds. ✅️ Personally, I thought Cast wasn't all that great in the first game, but it's significantly improved here. ✅️ Arcana cards grant passive bonuses and insights (upgrades) that are equippable for various builds. ✅️ The addition of familiars is wonderful. There's a cat, a dog, a frog, and more that are of extra help in runs, mostly to get certain things better and faster. ✅️ The ending is extremely well-written and is one of the best finales of the year. The post-game can be a struggle, but the true ending offers some shocking surprises that are rewarding and worth witnessing.
