I legit REJOICE whenever I get a notification that a library has bought one of my books.

This is the thing. They KNOW it's wrong. They KNOW they're doing a crappy thing. But they don't want to have to deal with the bad fee-fees they get when they're called thieves, so they have to rationalize it in a way that makes them feel morally superior.

And honestly with the number of free books available at any point now, there is very little defense I want to hear from people these days.
