Right now I am a kind of unemployed or underemployed.

People ask me repeated: Do you not like your old job?

Oh, I love my old job. I am highly qualified and very well-regarded in what I have done. That was nice.

But other things I love more.

And capitalism no longer offers me any compensation.

We were planning to travel to the USA for a few weeks this year, but decided against it in February.

And that will remain the case for a while.

There are over 1,000,000 places in the world that are more beautiful* right now, so why should I travel to the USA.

*and less expensive too
The US is facing a significant loss in international tourism in 2025, with the World Travel & Tourism Council(WTTC) projecting a $12.5 billion drop in international visitor spending.
This makes the US the only country out of 184 studied to be projected to see a decline, driven

Das Autoparken in Städten muss teurer sein als die Jahreskarte für die öffentlichen Verkehrsmittel. Zürich zeigt, wie es geht. 👏🚋💚

U can have a park for the people or park cars. The town of Tulln in Lower Austria made the choice for the people. They turned a concrete desert into a green paradise at the very heart of the city. We need more of these transformations. For families, seniors, teenagers…..
Park statt Parkplatz, Grünoase statt Asphaltwüste: In Tulln wurden mehr als 150 Parkplätze durch einen grünen Park für Menschen ersetzt. Ist viel schöner, verbessert Mikroklima und Lebensqualität. Nachahmenswert! #Klimakrise #Klimawandelanpassung

Loved seeing Te Komititanga full of people celebrating the lighting of Te Manaaki, Auckland’s Giant Christmas Tree.

Hard to believe a few years ago this civic space was a four lane road. It’s much better now and it is used by tens of thousands more people each day.

Here’s my offer to retailers:

I’ll pay for the bike racks in front of your store. In return, I’ll receive €1/$1 from you for every customer with a bike as a return on my investment in your store.

In Graz wurden Gewerbetreibende gefragt, was sie glauben, mit welchem Verkehrsmittel ihre KundInnen gekommen seien.

Und sie haben das Auto (wieder einmal) massiv überschätzt.

Retailers consistently overestimate how many customers arrive by car. A recent survey from Graz confirms this gap once again. #carbrain continues to distort even the most economic thinking people. @ianwalker.bsky.social @carsten-diekmann.bsky.social

Even though we're skipping the turkey today, I'm taking a moment to be thankful for this community.

From the bike advocates to the transit nerds, I’m grateful for the energy, ideas, and solidarity (most of the time) of this worldwide group. Thanks for being here. You're all good people!

Apparently the Seattle police department parked in a bus lane to go get food, causing a backup.

To me, this is expected as police are often the worst offenders for endangering people's lives by parking in a bike lane.

turns out best way to beautify your city is also best way to adapt to climate change:

deprioritize cars & on-street parking

prioritize sustainable mobility and sponge city principles (de-paving streets for trees)

bonus points: cleaner air, reduced urban heat islands, better public health outcomes
