Here’s my offer to retailers:

I’ll pay for the bike racks in front of your store. In return, I’ll receive €1/$1 from you for every customer with a bike as a return on my investment in your store.

Only a few hundred* exist, so don‘t be worry if you don‘t know them.

*they believe more in live-acts than in vinyl.

"Alternative schaffen" bedeutet:

In German boredom means „Langeweile“.

Literally translated, this means „a long while“ because time seems longer.

I have therefore always seen boredom as a great opportunity to significantly extend my life.

Why do many urban planners fail when it comes to bike and pedestrian traffic?

The rules are simple. Like chess, I can summarize them in one pages. And a lot planners know them.

But in practice, it turns out: This is the starting point, and we only have enough money to win two, not for three moves.

The great thing about cats is that anyone can say that about their cat and it‘s all true.

Hann. Münden

A small town in Germany, overlooked by the Royal Air Force.

The cat hates early sunsets.

In reality, I hate early sunsets, but I project it onto the cat, hoping that her cuteness will garner me more approval.

Is this bicycle infrastructure?

Yes of course.

When it comes to bikes, you have to think outside the box. The bicycle is the vehicle of spontaneity. Fast and agile.

But when you have to queue for 10 min. at the checkout for flour, sugar, and eggs, the spontaneity is lost, and I don’t get any 🍪.

Is this bicycle infrastructure?

Yes of course.

When it comes to biles, you have to think outside the box. Even more than weight, the volume you can carry on a bike is limited.

Retailers who offer the option of leaving bulky packaging at the store allow me to buy more.

It’s a win-win situation.

Its not the way witch define the kind of transportation, its the start and the destination.

I demand bicycle racks in every pedestrian zone?

Is that a contradiction, an incitement to disregard pedestrians‘ right of way, or what?

Bikes has a unique feature: you can simply push it.

It’s perfectly fine to take your bicycle into the pedestrian zone and continue your journey after shopping.

If no oil is extracted within your city limits, every gas pump pumps money out of your regional economy.

Bicycles and pedestrians keep the money circulating.
November 20, 2025 at 5:42 PM
The same in Kassel.

However, only in the upper part of the city. The snow line runs right through the middle of the city.

More bollards than people wouldn’t be so bad. But just bollards...

Creating lively places and pedestrian zones is an art. It doesn’t always work.

But there are rules of thumb. One is: Narrow is good. Open space is bad.

It needs to look full quickly. People are primarily attracted by other people.

A common problem here since bike racks have improved, but the locksmiths use the same material for the bike rack and the shopping cart box.

Inuit have over 30 words for snow. North Germans have over 300 words for rain.

Today: Graupel

Rain so cold that ice crystals are already forming. But stil wet.

Very unpleasant.
