There are ways to disagree and there are fun silly arguments and we can laugh about who likes and dislikes mayo but there's a level of just being mean that I really wish we could collectively grow out of. Bullying is bad. Gossip isn't good. Not liking something pop culture doesn't make you cool+

One of the various threads dealing with the subject matter yesterday specifically said that if you're a counselor, then no, you can't bully people online or offline and that's a GREAT way to lose your license (I'm assuming this is true, but also there's a wide gap between disagreement and bullying)

It's GLINDA who enchants the shoes (another issue i have with the musical movie is making it clear Glinda has no power) not Elphaba, and it's also clear that the shoes have a connection to the sort of separatist movement in Munchkinland that's been defying Oz so they're kinda a rallying point

Son of a Witch gets ...frustrating in that Liir is a Sad Boy who Just Sads Everywhere. Lion Among Men is unncessary, and Out of Oz ... needs both an editor and an Oz fan going "...why are we doing this to these characters"? a good chunk of the time.

The sequels are better than his worst books, but they also fundamentally try to shoe horn MacGuire's story into Baum's story in a way that Wicked is less interested in (and I feel like the weakest parts of the book and musical are when they try and do that with the 1939 movie...)+
