Rutgers law school? Maserati?
"Greene allegedly drove to Pennsylvania and paid a body-modification artist $500 to carve the wounds on her face, neck, and upper body, using a pattern she had provided in advance. Investigators later found matching zip ties in her Maserati SUV."

Again: matching zip ties in her Maserati SUV.
A staffer to a New Jersey congressman allegedly paid an scarification artist $500 to wound her as she staged a scene with zip ties and “Trump Whore” written on her stomach, federal prosecutors say

I remember when there was a discussion on Twitter about Shein's manufacturing practices and some apologists invented all sorts of fantastical machinery and technology to avoid facing the more horrifying truth. Reminds me of this comedian's joke.

At some point not too long from now someone will appoint summers to some powerful role where his bad ideas can hurt people. It will seem like he was punished now, that in some way he sought atonement, forgiveness. Ppl won’t remember that removal from Harvard was hardly punishment & he didn’t repent.

My book is not sheer page turning narrative propulsion but for Serious History it’s pretty readable and I pack a lot of story in with analysis. It’s not dad history, but it’s worth a look 😜 (30% off!)

as a naive/good person, I don't usually assume that people will use tools to hurt each other, but as a person who has been on the internet for a long time, these uses are pretty telescoped, and why/how are we not holding the adults who unleashed this shit accountable, when they definitely KNEW
This is a nuts story. An AI chatbot and image platform left millions of images exposed. They show what people are actually using the AI for: taking random women's yearbook, graduation, and social media photos and making super realistic hardcore porn with them

My mom used to love chocolate covered cherries, so I associate them with grown up sophistication. One time I bit into one and there was a worm in it! I never had them again

You can read my reporting on the NC raids today. People of course are terrified, with many undocumented & mixed-status families staying home or otherwise laying low. But all around them community organizers, educators, faith leaders, and local residents are mobilizing to help. It is deeply moving.

harv sending summers into a classroom tells students a lot about what is valued, right up there with university admins providing them plagiarism tools. we are producing sociopaths and fools, and destroying trust.

Museums are going to use AI to do their interpretation and labels aren’t they? What wouldn’t they do to avoid paying labor, or reckoning with the contradictions and tensions that come with engaging the public in hard histories
"The director of the Museum of the City of New York, Stephanie Hill Wilchfort, said she no longer needs to hire copy editors to work on annual reports. [She is turning to AI.]"

This should be embarrassing to admit.
