Notable that Carney gets nothing in return: this will hurt the liberals in BC, they won't make any gains in Alberta, Smith won't stop and of her bullshit, and it will likely tear apart the Liberal caucus.

The only reasonable conclusion is that Carney is a climate change denialist and a fool.
The federal-AB agreement is a love letter to fossil fuels

-cancelation of critical policies (OG emissions cap & clean electricity rules)
-public $$ for a pipeline (via Indigenous loan program)
-more $$ for CCS, incl. enhanced oil production
- only mention of electricity is for fossil fuels

This really feels like a really stupid gamble. You aren't popular in Alberta. TMX didn't make Liberals popular in Alberta. You do have seats in BC, but likely alienated the province now.

And I really despise leaving this with BC and indigenous groups to be the "bad guys" to fight this.

In a sane world, the government guilty of committing genocide would be dismantled, and forced to pay reparations. Instead they are allowed to corral their victims into a concentration camp and steal their land. We live in the most obscene of all possible timelines.

So that's why she invoked the Notwithstanding Clause to deny affected trans youth the ability to challenge her laws in court, right?
What a fucking hypocrite.

I'm an "A.i." abolitionist.

No consumer-facing LLMs or generative "A.i." in anything.

Sure, machine learning in science and a few other limited applications is fine.

But consumer-facing LLMs and generative "A.i." that are based on theft, push disinfo, and can be manipulated by billionaires?

No.

The Freep probably wants to be more accurate ... CIJA is an Israeli organization, not a Jewish organization. Conflating the two, making it look like Jews in general want to stop the CMHR from talking about forced displacement of Palestinians, could feed anti-Semitism.

Why would the article include data put forward by the CIJA and not include a single fact about the Nakba for the reader? 750,000 Palestinians displaced, 78% of historic Palestine captured and 15,000 murdered between 1947 and 1949.

Mom-to-be, you can help prevent this from happening by receiving a dose of the whopping cough vaccine in your third trimester. This will allow your infant to have some antibodies to protect them if they are exposed to it
All preventable. No baby should die of whooping cough. Not vaccinating your kids has consequences not just for your children but also for those around them. Vaccination rates need to go up. And unfortunately, this is a news story that may well happen in Canada too.
