We’re not going to “fix the Democrats’ brand” by doing TikToks or launching pods. The brand is a direct reflection of our elected officials. If we want to purge our weak branding, we have to purge the weak Dems. I’m looking forward to a robust primary cycle and new Democrats who know how to fight.

The Democratic Senate candidate said he understands why some may compare him to the Pennsylvania senator, but he told NBC News he's different — and wants to earn voters' trust.

This is likely the final nail in the coffin for the Democratic Party's existence as a major political party, even though it won't be widely regarded as such for several years after this stunning betrayal of the Democratic base.
JUST IN: Lawmakers reach deal to end government shutdown.
A test vote on Sunday marked a turning point in the monthlong stalemate.

I'll spoil the ending of it...Republicans won't hold the vote on ACA subsidies. They have proven repeatedly that they cannot negotiate in good faith.
Whatever else is in the deal, agreeing to merely have a vote on ACA is a fig leaf. Even if it passes the Senate, it won't in the House, which also makes it an easy yes vote for the Senate Rs who might want to, defusing it as an attack on them.
It is a stupid ask even on Team Schumer's own terms.

The so-called "deal" to reopen the "government" includes no guarantee of ACA subsidies, no guarantee of @adelitaforcongress.bsky.social being rightfully sworn-in, and no guarantee of SNAP or any other funding being reinstating.
Senate Democrats betrayed us again, and we must #AbolishTheSenate!

This is the facility that I and many others have been protesting. We’ve been hit, thrown, gassed, and shot with pepper bullets but none of that holds a candle to what is being done to people *in* the actual facility.
Read this thread. Don’t look away. Keep your eyes and the pressure on Broadview.

A family friend was telling us about what her husband shared about his experience in Broadview before he was deported back to Mexico. She's been sharing to friends and family because she's just in disbelief & horror what her husband told her. She wasn't able to talk to him until he was in Mexico.

I see some quibbling about if sandwich guy is really "jury nullification" (we know he's factually guilty and acquit anyway) or actually just a normal acquittal because the government didn't prove its case beyond a reasonable doubt.
Fun thing about jury nullification is that's entirely unknowable.

History never remembers people who abduct people at daycare centers as good people.
Easily several hundred people have packed into this plaza in Chicago's North Center tonight in response to ICE abducting a daycare worker early this morning.
This is a neighborhood that has largely been spared until now from the "Midway Blitz" terror campaign. But everyone knows someone affected.

Trump crony Laurel Libby asked for a voter suppression Christmas wish list in Maine, and the people of Maine rejected it!
This measure lost 64% to 36%, remarkable.
A big result: Maine voters have rejected the conservative ballot measure that'd have restricted ballot access.
The measure was going to impose voter ID, and restrict mail voting significantly.
It lost easily, a year before the crucial midterms there.
