I hate this so goddamned much. This whole insular media world. I see all the time with my job, Bloomberg News/Financial Times house style that giving off the same sort of vibe as a mob guy saying "a friend of ours."

The way Grady (Philip Stone) underlines “always” in this line and the next is so unsettling.

I don’t think video games should rigidly follow the same formula, but there’s a certain charm to the basics of Metroid (solitude, exploration, “I found this, now I can unlock that”) that really can’t be ignored.

I would definitely hate it if the Republicans went after the president I half-heartedly voted for almost 30 years ago.

AI has become so advanced it can now produce a terrible song to play during a commercial for the latest Taylor Sheridan TV show.

This is their job. It’s their team and their star player is beyond reproach.
Megyn Kelly: "I know somebody very close to this case…Jeffrey Epstein, in this person's view, was not a pedophile…He was into the barely legal type, like he liked 15 year old girls…He wasn't into like 8 year olds…There's a difference between a 15 year old and a 5 year old."

I'm always happy to take part in #horrorwriterschat and less thrilled to promote myself. Just how I'm wired. Still, I'm proud of my first collection and want it to find more readers.

Evil statues, vampire priests (and a vampire attorney), cursed movies and, yes, a clown-based apocalypse.

I don't know if he considers himself a "horror" writer but my longtime social media friend @iamchrisscott.bsky.social writes some very fine, creepy and gutwrenching fiction.

I don't know what the refreshments would be, exactly, but I do know I have a lot of stories where someone consumes something and has a horrific vision, so maybe try to sneak in some gummi bears instead.

Q3 - INTERMISSION

Time for a refreshment break.

We head over to the concession stand and discover that all the food and drink are themed on your work.

#HorrorWritersChat - What refreshments are we enjoying and how are they related to your work?

I've had people tell me "Advent of the Clown King," the title story from my collection, would make a good movie. I think someone like Adam Scott or Mark Ruffalo would be a good fit for the main character.

Q2 - COMING SOON

It’s time for the trailers.

And look #HorrorWritersChat - it’s a trailer for your very own horror work, adapted for the screen. Congrats!

Which work is it?

And which actor is playing your main protagonist, antagonist or fave character? Share your dream cast!

Now, what are we watching?

Share the two movies/films that have inspired your writing or that capture the vibes of your work.
