Universities across the country have their business models being completely destroyed by this administration on multiple fronts.

1) Loss of foreign students.

2) Killing of NIH/NSF funding for research grants.

3) Revocation of tax exempt status.

They are trying to eliminate universities.

This is a big, big deal.

Huge.

Also: this is why we need to be aggressively funding science.

British and Australian chemists have discovered a powerful new antibiotic called pre-methylenomycin C lactone, hiding in a well-known soil bacterium. This molecule kills drug-resistant bacteria without triggering resistance. buff.ly/YlXaONo

Fully one fifth of America’s Navy surface ships are in the Caribbean right now.

Why?

Why are we saber rattling in front of Venezuela?

Hear me out: Tell him “no” for the first time in his life. Like: “Mr President, Sir… in a lifetime of dumb ideas, this one is the most powerfully stupid idea you’ve ever had and we will absolutely not endorse it, nor will we carry it out.”

It is good to have brains that can perform thought experiments without giving voice or action to them. It is also good to have frontal lobes that can put brakes on verbalizing violent speech.

For those without those cognitive controls, we sometimes have to have policies on social medial platforms.
