It seems fairly straightforwardly a violation of international law, regardless of how bad Maduro is/was. No one is safe when laws are disregarded anytime the powerful choose to because no one will hold them accountable.

There are hordes of uninformed “influencers” happy to “inform” people for clicks and ad views. If quality news is behind paywalls, the masses will only know what influencers tell them.
