If you see someone being taken, get their name. GET THEIR NAME. Call out, "what's your name?" or "como te llama?" and record or write it (or both, ideally both) and then call Monarca at 612-441-2881 with the person's name.
This something I want people to understand. If you don’t get their names, they’re just gone. There’s no arrest record and the snatch-and-grabs can last seconds. People simply disappear and we can’t find out who they are or what happened to them.
They seem to be making a habit of it.

This child was taken 10 days ago, no idea who he is, if he is with his family or even if his family knows what happened to him.

ICE just crashed a car at my intersection (due to their own shitty driving) and immediately got out and tear gassed observers.

Here we have faith leaders, peacefully praying about treating others with dignity and humanity. Some cops were ordered to arrest them, and they agreed. They didn't have to, but they did.
As clergy pray, arrests begin

TIL they’re calling DHS’s operation in Maine “Catch of the Day.” This dehumanizing language tells you all you need to know. It’s a big joke to them.
DHS launches 'Operation Catch of the Day' enforcement action in Maine
The Department of Homeland Security has launched an operation targeting criminal illegal migrants in the state of Maine, according to a DHS spokesperson.

Thanks Will. To emphasize this, the most important question you can ask someone being detained is:

WHAT IS YOUR NAME?

Current temp: -17 F
Feels like: -27 F

Doesn’t matter. Tens of thousands of us are out here protecting our communities.

I met so many heroic observers on the ground today, folks I’m starting to see every day. I still don’t know real names, but there are certain pseudonyms who are always out there and that make me feel safe. I’m meeting neighbors when we discover we’re rapid response together. Community is how we win.

Folks buy salt at Target (to melt ICE) and return it to encourage Target to not comply so easily with ICE.

Resistance takes many forms. Let your voice be heard, however you can.

7 Democrats voted for the DHS funding bill. Asleep at the wheel.

There is no resistance party.

@spoonshiro.com Just wanted to say thanks for the RT. I'd much rather post about games, but this is too important.

ICE is dressing normally to gain entry to schools, food drives, and other areas to get intelligence about what is happening and to identify vulnerable people. In particular, they are expressing a willingness to donate. Be alert, be suspicious.

Abolish ICE.

We are NOT having it here in MN. When the whistles blow, you can literally watch people swarm out of houses, nearby biz, from down the street. People spill out of cars to protect and observe. People yell for vulnerable folks to stay at home, for businesses to lock their doors.

It's beautiful.
I came to Minneapolis to report on what's going on, and one of the main questions I showed up with is "just what is the scale of the resistance?" After all, we're all used to the news calling Portland a "war zone" or whatever when it's just some protests in one part of town.

ICE pepper sprayed a man inches away from his face. The man was already held on the ground, face down, totally controlled by 2 other ICE agents.

They do not care. Abolish ICE.
January 22, 2026 at 4:59 PM
ICE rams vehicles and says the victims caused the “accident”. This gives ICE pretext to detain, as if they need one. They don’t care.

Abolish ICE.

You cannot overstate how startling it is to see a politician just say the thing with clarity and poise. No fearful hemming. No overwrought qualifying down til it’s meaningless. No lingering sense that there is a loyalty to a donor class or an ideology of stasis that they’d never admit to.
Mamdani: "I am in support of abolishing ICE. What we see is an entity that has no interest in fulfilling its stated reason to exist. We're seeing a government agency that is supposed to be enforcing some kind of immigration law, but instead what it's doing is terrorizing people."
January 20, 2026 at 6:17 PM
You say “we”. Who is that? I assure you, as a Minnesotan, we already know it isn’t normal. We hate it. We’re angry and hurting and tired. We’re tired that our elected representatives aren’t as furious as we are, that they aren’t speaking out with their full chest, that they are acting powerless.
We cannot normalize this federal occupation of Minneapolis.

It is not normal to watch people abducted in front of our eyes—dragged from car windows, pulled from their homes, and children left without parents.

This is not about immigration. It’s about unchecked cruelty.
January 20, 2026 at 7:58 PM
Unsurprisingly, a solid message from Mamdani here, especially the pieces about care and humanity. Other dems, take note.

@schumer.senate.gov my city is under hostile occupation by an armed, masked, violent force. The president is threatening to take Greenland. You *cannot * ignore these things. People are desperate for y’all to get your shit together and speak out with your whole chest and take meaningful action.
January 19, 2026 at 10:42 AM
@schumer.senate.gov Hey Chuck. It’s true, people care about affordability. But there’s no use in affording anything if you get kidnapped by a masked and hostile federal force. You can care about more than one thing, you know. You are utterly failing to meet the moment.
