The Nerdist guy who talks about Westeros like it's a real place. Also a noted cheeseburger enthusiast. (Hence the username.)
I knew I was going to be much higher on The Running Man than a lot of people. I even said so in my glowing review, where I explained why I think it's much smarter and emotionally draining than the trailers suggested.
Review: Edgar Wright's The Running Man is wildly entertaining, tense, and funny with incredibly resonant themes.

Perfect way to end Spooky Season? Listen @burgermike.bsky.social and myself, along with host Kyle Anderson, talk all about the mascots of #Halloween, the Universal Monsters, for @nerdist.bsky.social’s Laser Focus podcast. “Listen to us, the children of the night!” open.spotify.com/episode/3kNu...

This was a really fun pod. If you like fun and/or pods, you should listen.
For the end of spooky season, let's go back to the first Universal Monsters movies. How well do these nearly 100-year-old movies hold up now? Well, a first time viewer gives his thoughts open.spotify.com/episode/3k...

I did something fun for work that is absolutely going to have a certain type of person yelling at me, as though my life has been full of infinite time and freedom to experience everything that has ever been created.

But forget them. Can't wait to share it with normal people!

@bransonreese.bsky.social Is Baptiste the most fun character to write for?

Also I would die for Baptiste.

As part of "Creatures from Another Dimension" week at @nerdist.bsky.social I wrote about one of my true passions in life: terrible '90s Stephen King adaptions that are so bad I love them. Obviously this is about The Langoliers.

The Worst Creature From Another Dimension Is Clearly TV's THE LANGOLIERS
No show or movie has ever delivered a worse creature from another dimension than ABC bringing Stephen King's The Langoliers to the screen.

Review: With an amazing soundtrack, fantastic action sequences and visual effects, and a cast that elevates the script, Tron fans will be happy to have the franchise power back up.

Awwwww yeah my editors let me get real nerdy for this year's #Nerdoween. At @nerdist.bsky.social I found the perfect Trojan Horse to spread the gospel of Warren Zevon.
"Werewolves of London" is a Halloween party playlist staple, but there's actually an even better Warren Zevon song for the spooky season.

The Smashing Machine isn't bad, but it isn't good, either. At @nerdist.bsky.social I explained why it's ultimately empty hagiography hiding behind its subject matter's issues and a tremendous Dwayne Johnson performance.

THE SMASHING MACHINE Is Empty Flattery Hiding Behind Dwayne Johnson's Great Performance
A fantastic performance from Dwayne Johnson helps hide the fact The Smashing Machine is really just a well-disguised empty flattery.
