Reads really Old Books, listens to Stoner Rock, watches Movies and collects British Comic Books (2000AD, Eagle etc). Loves 1930s Pulp (Fantasy and Science Fiction). Works with GNU/Linux. Irish, Anxious, Asperger's - not necessarily in that order.
Lazenby's Bond literally CONFIRMED that both the name and the codename were transferred when an agent retired (or WAS retired). Yes it was a throwaway joke at the time, but a way out for writers was still put in place.

Plus, considering the amount of references to this same movie in NTDD, well... 🤔

Albert Maignan's Green Muse (1895): a poet succumbs to the Green Fairy ie. Absinthe

While sometimes casually referred to as a liqueur, absinthe was traditionally bottled at a high level of alcohol and contained the hallucinogen chemical compound thujone in trace amounts, leading to it's banning.

Finally had a procedure today to remove these damn nasal polyps that have haunted me for 10 years. My nose is a bloody mess (and certainly going to hurt tomorrow), but I've been given painkillers and 2 weeks off work to recover, so lots of coffee and movies!

Should be breathing properly again too 👍

Neil Young be pushing up 80 candles today. Here he is playing my favourite song ALABAMA with 𝘗𝘳𝘰𝘮𝘪𝘴𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘙𝘦𝘢𝘭 in 2015.

This was the first performance of this song in 28 years. The last time he played this was in 1977, the night Ronnie Van Zant died.

How far back in time do you think you could live and not lose your mind?
I think I could handle about 1962.

I could co-create Marvel comics and it was a great movie year (Lawrence of Arabia, To Kill a Mockingbird, Dr. No)

In music: Ray Charles, Dylan, Coltrane.

Watching the excellent "Penultimate Cut" of 𝘉𝘭𝘢𝘥𝘦 𝘙𝘶𝘯𝘯𝘦𝘳, a 5 year project that takes the better looking 'Director's Cut' transfer and regrades it to look like the movie looked on the last 1999 video release before it was "remastered".

Kyle Kingsbury is not a journalist. He is not an op-ed writer.

He is a computer safety researcher.

And he has written one of the most compelling, comprehensive accounts of the ongoing hell in Chicago that you could possibly imagine.

In under 1600 words.
