Birdwatching.

I'm super stressed right now so here's a recent favourite landscape from a few months ago again - Dunvegan in Alberta, Canada. This aerial embroidery took forever but was worth it 💚 the higher up perspective is more intricate and slower to sew I've found, more fiddly! #art

Streaks of black on feathers, sitting on the ground, sand granules flying from wing feather movement. Background is a green paper cutting mat with white lines in squares going vertically, horizontally and diagonally. Another study from this series completed after a lot of struggle. Dustbathing is one of the essential activities for birds, the lack of mud roads in the city I feel could also play a part in decreasing numbers of small birds like sparrows. Starting to understand it a tiny bit. I was using way too much paint and thinner all the time, which made it very unmanageable, very quick. Still got a lot to learn though #oilpainting
