Welcome back to Canada, President Zelenskyy.

Today in Halifax, we committed critical new support to help Ukraine end Russia’s war of aggression, and to recover and rebuild. When peace comes — and it will come — Canada will be there for the Ukrainian people. Slava Ukraini. 🇨🇦🇺🇦

Proud to support this motion from Councillor @lucymaloney.bsky.social to restrict right-on-red to protect vulnerable road users like my family. Hoping to see it actually and comprehensively reflected in the City's Vision Zero Study.
Next up @ionabonamis.bsky.social strongly supports. As a mother, emphasizes how this will protect vulnerable residents esp kids, seniors, people w/ disabilities. Has seen countless close calls with RoR. Had an incident while cycling on Granville & 10th that sent her to emergency room.

Today, we remember the fourteen young women whose lives were stolen at Polytechnique Montréal 36 years ago.

Their names are a solemn reminder of the devastating toll of gender-based violence — and the responsibility that comes with our remembrance.

A typical European car is parked 92% of the time. It spends 1/5th of its driving time looking for parking. Its 5 seats only move 1.5 people. 86% of its fuel never reaches the wheels, and most of the energy that does, moves the car, not the people.

Sound efficient?

I like reading stuff by Nat Basen. I will read anything about the Blue Jays. So this worked out nicely for me:
"The team has adopted a selfless mindset... a complete reversal of the story of the Blue Jays teams that came before — the kind of development that can only come to those who know the end of every other available path."
How this Blue Jays playoff run was built on failure | TVO Today
The team’s selfless approach has won them both fans and games. They came by it the hard way.

Other points:
• BC has Canada’s lowest personal income taxes for anyone with taxable income up to $150,000

• B.C. faces record high income inequality

• Deficit panic serves a political purpose — it’s used to justify underfunding, underpayment & downsizing

After the murder of Charlie Kirk, conservatives piled on Rachel Gilmore for expressing a well-founded fear. Then came violent threats.

While I'm excited to see @kamloopsairport.bsky.social service come back in @kamloops.ca @bctransit.com #Kamloops expansion report. I'm concerned about its use of the Custom fleet.

Custom (community) buses aren't low-floor which will cause issue with travellers and luggage access.

Oh man, I wish BYD (and others) were options in the Canadian market.
We are shooting an episode about the BYD Atto 2, launched today in the UK. Very competent machine, very easy and relaxing to drive, really roomy inside. More on Everything Electric Cars soon

It's nice when they can reestablish power quickly. #Kamloops

Still wrecks havoc on technology. Never thought it would pay off so quickly, but love having a UPS on my @synologyofficial.bsky.social and network!

Server didn't abruptly shutdown, and still had internet and WiFi throughout the outage.
Power is back on, and some outages lasted less than 5 minutes, but there was a widespread outage in #Kamloops Saturday evening.

A substation fault is to blame, according to BC Hydro.
