UIUX as its own branch with dedicated UX Designers, UI Artists, UI Engineers (and tech artists), and Producers.

UIUX often works across multiple features and needs to be managed accordingly. It needs the agency to set a schedule and push back, which is hard to do from the shadows of another org.

A thread on colourblindness & #gamedev -

If your approach to colourblindness is full screen filters, you're *doing it wrong*, and causing more problems that you're solving.

If you see a game that has filters, they're doing it wrong. If you see a game that has a 'strength' slider - don't copy it.

That's perfectly okay, I had to learn as well. There's this amazing graphic floating around bluesky that gives a very good intro on how to alt text. A more extensive guide can be found here: www.perkins.org/resource/how...

There is nothing quite like having your game revealed to the world. It is always a mix of excitement, pride, fear and uncertainty.

So congratulations to everyone whose game got announced tonight ❤️ You are getting closer! You're doing great! Get to that finish line!

You won't be affected if you do not get the error.
It won't affect peripherals plugged into an Xbox Adaptive Controller.

Who's cutting onions
In 2012, AbleGamers gave SWTOR an award for our accessibility. I was sent to accept the reward, and just now I found the notes from my acceptance. It... felt important, so I thought I'd repurpose the high points into a thread. Please join me for a bit.

Amazing guidelines developed by the team at XBOX! I particularly like the examples' section ❤️
The Xbox Accessibility Guidelines are a set of best practices compiled by industry experts, gamers, and disabled people. The guidelines have been written to help developers, designers, and testers make games more accessible to people with disabilities.
