There are really no words that can sufficiently express my gratitude for everyone who came out and stood with me, a boring suburban dad, yesterday.
NEW: So, the courtroom at the "Broadview 6" arraignment in Chicago yesterday featured lotsa Methodist pastors.

Why? They were supporters of defendant/fellow Methodist Brian Straw.

Parente questions the reason for Straw "to sit here now and ask him to turn his passport over to the government for no reason other than they think they can?" He says landscapers arrested by ICE "cannot stand up to the government. Mr. Straw can, and your honor can too."

"He just does not want to turn the passport over to the government," Straw's attorney said, saying part of the reason Straw was protesting in the first place was to protest the government "abusing its power" by demanding identification documents from community members
