I’m so mad about Labour dropping the day one protection from unfair dismissal. It just feels like they have no idea what some workplaces are like. This comment from Rachel Reeves yesterday just sounded so heartless.

This really needs emphasizing. The entirety of the UK media ecosystem is utterly fixated on a 100% fabricated "crisis".
Net migration has fallen again to 204,000, the lowest level since 2021 and is forecast to continue falling over the coming years.

Not that you would know it from the endless coverage of Britain's supposed "immigration crisis"

I couldn’t believe the extent to which private jets populate the sky. The air is simply thick with them

This 1000 times over. If you can't afford mortgage payments or won't (cut down on that avocado toast!) then move. I don't support the system that does that; I want it torn down. But if either you are unaware of how renters live, or you simply do not care, don't expect sympathy from the rest of us.
This house tax pretending is making me more insane than usual because as a renter I’ve had to move every 1-3 years just as standard because rents always rise. And no one cares. House owners get a tiny fraction of that precarity and suddenly it’s the worst thing that’s ever happened

What possible justification can there be for yet again freezing income tax thresholds rather than raising the level of income tax on the rich, let alone for doing this rather than properly taxing wealth, property ownership included? It is straightforwardly wicked.

Lucy White advocates a ban on "non-natives" from office, citing Rishi Sunak and Priti Patel.

So she is referring to UK-born ethnic minority citizens. (Her argument would apply equally to Shabana Mahmood, Kemi Badenoch, Suella Braverman and others)

I cannot see why private jets should in any circumstances be permitted. If people consider themselves too grand to travel otherwise, we have no need of them in this country. There is no excuse for such wanton. environmentally catastrophic selfishness, none whatsoever.
MISSING: Closing tax loopholes for private jets, taxing airplane fuel, a frequent flyer levy.

Why does the Chancellor have such a blind spot for anything that might tackle the excesses of the aviation industry? #Budget

Lots of people sharing this clip because it's funny and cathartic but I also genuinely believe it's important.

We have to win the narrative battle between "I live in a corrupt society and that's just how it is" and "I live in a corrupt society and we are going to defeat and humiliate these ghouls."

When I was monitoring FB etc groups around Brexit, the one thing pro and anti groups all had in common was racist & misogynistic memes and other posts about Diane Abbott. She was loathed by the centre and the right and whatever the reasons they gave if challenged, it was always misogynoir behind it
I think at this point if you're including Diane Abbott - a woman who has never held government office, has been a backbencher since 2020, and is scarcely a government ally - on your list of political wrongdoers, we all know exactly what your real concerns are

Proud of a property lawyer friend who, asked by students at a university society talk, whether London property was ‘still a good investment’ replied no, because to regard houses and flats as an investment rather than somewhere to live is immoral. Not the answer they expected, she said.
