NEW from me:

Towards the end of Trump's interview with 60 Minutes in November, Bari Weiss rushed into the room to introduce herself and the pair exchanged kisses on the cheek, leaving 60 Minutes staff stunned at the "overly chummy" embrace.

The double pardon really gives away the game. Adriana Camberos started her second round of fraud just weeks after her first pardon. She was charged, convicted, imprisoned…and pardoned again. Trump supporters are permitted unlimited crimes, while the rest of us can get beaten by the secret police.
President Trump quietly issued clemency grants this week, including to a California woman he had pardoned once before and a man whose daughter had donated millions to a Trump super PAC.

This is huge: For the first time since the early 1970s, coal power generation has fallen in both China & India.

It undercuts claims that decarbonisation is pointless while they expand coal. Renewables are no longer just adding capacity — they’re displacing coal.

DOJ has occasionally claimed that it needs to search reporters' records to find the source of a security leak.

But that's pretty obviously not what they were doing when they searched the Post reporter's house. They arrested a suspect days ago, after more or less catching him in the act.

I wrote book reviews for a while for the WSJ well over a decade ago, and Bari Weis was my editor. One of her special tricks was to try to insert a sharp rightward slant into my essays *after* it had been copy edited, as a way of slipping her viewpoint in at the last minute.

Democratic appointees: 27%

Here’s a comment for the people who are upset that MN hasn’t charged Jonathan Ross already:

If you just Leeeroy Jenkins this shit you will lose and you will empower fascism and murder.

It is indescribably hard to prosecute cops for murder. It is even hard when the murder is ON VIDEO.

A few years ago, a Texas man serving life in prison was struggling with a decision: Was it fair to get married to the woman he’d fallen in love with?

Nanon Williams feared “my chains becoming hers.”

He turned to a man he’d come to see as a father for advice:

Rob Reiner
He was sentenced to death. Rob and Michele Reiner loved him like a son.
Nanon Williams was sent to death row for a murder he says he didn't commit. Decades later, through daily emails and weekly prison calls, the Reiners became family.

The end goal of Grok sexual harassment is to make women afraid to be visible. It’s a punishment for daring to exist in a way the perpetrators can’t control. There’s no one solution to this, because the problem isn’t just technological. It’s cultural. It’s misogyny. This is just one expression of it.

A lot of this was directed at online models and sex workers, which is deeply troubling as sex workers already face a disproportionately high risk of violence and homicide.

Several users expressly asked Grok to make women "look scared" in the sexualized images.
