What I really love about the first episode is how we first see everyone. Victoria on the train seeking, Elizabeth framed behind the crosshatching of the window pane like bars, Roger pouring a brandy from a crosshatched decanter (his own prison), each of them alone.

One of the things I love about DARK SHADOWS is that people can be confronted by the ghost of a long dead Victorian child who warns them that their long lost cousin is really a vampire, only to say “Silly ghost! Vampires can’t exist!”

Welcome to Pride Month! This month I remind people that the Blue Whale was originally named the Rainbow Bar in the Dark Shadows story bible. Then I giggle (in a manly way). It would be decades before the rainbow became about the LGBTQ+ civil rights movement...but Dark Shadows was from the start.

Call me crazy, but I like to think of the Blue Whale as a romantic bar. Couples meet here, date here, dance here, and even have the occasional fight here.
For Valentine's Day I'm stocking the jukebox with the romantic greats of the 60s and even a few oldies from the 50s. Stay tuned to this thread!
