On first review, three facilities that I have not seen recently that are now on the list:
- Florida Soft-Sided Facility, Ochopee, FL
- Kansas City Holdroom, Kansas City, MO
- Sioux County Jail, Orange City, IA

I know one SDNY decision doesn't immediately amount to much practically down here, but had been combing habeas orders for exactly this sort of fact pattern, if only for some sliver of personal sanity. 🫤

Shit, there's two of them. Both of these Journey Aviation airplanes have done third-country removals for ICE.

Two in two days. Maybe more, I don't know, but this is fucking awful, basically third-country removals in a master calendar setting.

Even worse, permission for virtual appearance is at the discretion of your judge, and the conditions on it—with or without a motion in advance, only when represented or pro se, with a sufficiently compelling reason or not, etc.—vary wildly from IJ to IJ, none of which is going to be publicly posted.

How many, versus those who were released or removed? ICE has only made that harder to tell with the basic tools they provide, unless you can do the labor-intensive, person-by-person and family-by-family contact that I'm pretty sure the Herald has been doing since

So out of the ~1200 the Herald couldn't find, >400 were probably located properly before and after they checked, they just happened to check in the midst of a bungled system update.

Of the other ~800, some were probably in transit between facilities, and would have shown a location in a day or two.

Even if no data entry mistakes made, unless one was checking ODLS multiple times a day, it would be very easy to miss a brief transfer to a staging facility like Alexandria or Port Isabel. Some people in ELP definitely went to "Search Results: 0" before the "Call ICE For Details" issue was fixed.
