I am doing my self-evaluation for work and a required question includes areas of development and I don't know a professional way to be like "I am good at my job, I am not currently interested in new responsibilities, therefore I am not interested in new skills related to the things you pay me for"

Listen, I am not a doctor & even if I were it would be inappropriate to diagnose someone I hadn't personally examined, but, uh, that man almost certainly has dementia and it is both cruel and dangerous to allow him to continue to have the amount of power he does.

Mom is a reader but hasn't been lately. I finally asked if she could see the print. The answer is "not really" so we took an older tablet and set it up for her with Libby, where she is currently reading one of the magazines available through our public library.

There is a guy on here with 8K+ followers that I went to school with (k-12) and it is very weird every time he pops up into my feed (I will not be naming him as that would be terrible opsec given the stuff I talk about on this account)

What is the fucking point of a gerontocracy if we can't get some health care and support for the elderly in this country? I know most of Congress is not stuck at home getting changed by their kids but surely they know someone their age who is?

Where are we getting twin-sized machine-washable cotton blankets these days? I want to be able to rotate Mom's out and not leave her blanket less when one is in the wash

I appreciate how on TOS, Spock and Kirk are constantly asking Uhura if she's sure of something or if she tried something and she always answers in this way that has certain "I know how to do my fucking job" tone to it

My mother (who has dementia) is telling me about a book she wants to read. I asked her what it was about and she said "people who are different than we are". Thanks, Mom, that really narrows it down

I need more context? I assume this is not a customer service situation or a meet-and-greet but some kind of genuine social interaction but are we talking "actively disliked and tried to escape" or "just didn't vibe"? Also I would argue that notorious curmudgeons don't count because it isn't personal

My mother unfortunately made a comment that implied she was a risk to herself, so her rehab sent her to the ER for labs and a psych eval. The comment was around 4 eastern. She still hasn't been seen by psych, which is apparently a fucking telehealth appointment.

Probably this is in some book or something but I wonder if DeForest Kelley's blue eyes are the reason Starfleet medical officers wear blue (command gold also brings out the gold in Shatner's hazel eyes)

We have been watching ST:TOS and I think part of the reason Kirk has the "womanizer" reputation is partly just because of the way women are on the show? Like they have women on the crew, women are scientists, etc. but there is also a conversational sexualization of them that isn't present later
