Because what we (brains+body) do and how we do it is not symbol/"data" manipulation, it is matter manipulation, at atom scale. We are nowhere near that in any way shape or form.
AGI is a nonsense concept and no current technology leads to it

oh you think the jokes in thomas pynchon novels are corny? the names? you don't like the songs? you might like the single greatest stylist of the 20th century and the one novelist who almost grasps the totality if he wasn't so "cringe" for you? should we throw a party? call the papers?

Boks have won 11/13 in 2025, and are on track to finish with an 86% record for the 1st time.

Wins v NZ, France, Ireland will be savoured, but worth celebrating how Rassie has juggled resources and kept his development promise with a view to the 2027 RWC

the genAI bubble relies on you conflating the genuinely tremendous potential of using machine learning for e.g. image recognition in radiotherapy, protein folding, simulations in power systems etc with the child abuse image generators and schizophrenic delusions generators

I look forward to hiring a Chief AI Officer whose job will be to just tell anyone who suggests using AI for anything to shut the fuck up.

people claiming AI doesn't have a business model, eat your words, again
Twitter pays people based on engagement (views, retweets, comments, etc). It appears that many MAGA accounts are based abroad and they use AI technology to generate low-effort rage bait.

My guess is that this will get worse as AI tech improves. For instance, fake videos of minorities doing crime.

Oh please please PLEASE
Journalist challenge: Use “Machine Learning” when you mean machine learning and “LLM” when you mean LLM. Ditch “AI” as a catch-all term, it’s not useful for readers and it helps companies trying to confuse the public by obscuring the roles played by different technologies. 🧪

American AI is still doing a fabulous job of understanding South African accents. This was poor Desiree from the Wine of the Month club trying hard to sell me some festive plonk

The perfect Scottish response to this would be to sack Toonie and replace him with Sean Everitt

In 2025 rugby matches are won and lost in the bench. Rassie gets it. Borthwick gets it. Contempomi gets it.

Argentina playing like they have 14 men on the field!

Argentina are just letting Scotland win this one so they can beat England next week. I don’t make the rules

I think in retrospect the TMO was a bad idea
November 15, 2025 at 4:26 PM
The fundamental thing about Rassie, as with many other children of alcoholics, is that he is a control freak. So when it didn’t work to try and influence refs to make calls his way, he decided to prepare a team that expects bad calls. That expects 14 men. It’s pathology transmuted into discipline.
November 15, 2025 at 2:49 PM
Guys relax. Rassie is just making sure we know how to play with 14 in case it happens in IDK a World Cup final. 4D chess boet.

Please share this far and wide, even if attempting to set the record straight seems like a Canutian project at times. The sad, sad, SAD summation:

"Americans are being told about Afrikaner persecution in order to make money for AfriForum and to entrench white nationalist tropes"
