Your annual reminder that the most revealing difference between Irish and Scottish Gaelic is definitely in the words for December: Mí na Nollag (Month of Christmas) in Ireland, and An Dubhlachd (the Blackness) in Scotland. So once again may I wish you all a lovely Blackness.

NSU RO80 on Bangers and Cash on Yesterday tv at the moment. My dad had one in the early 70s as seen in the photo. Unusual at the time and virtually extinct now!

Gutted to hear that we have lost Tom Stoppard.
Not many plays are absolutely perfect but I consider Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead and The Real Inspector Hound to be two examples of theatrical perfection. I’ve been lucky enough to be in one and directed the other.
A huge loss to the stage…
